The big week of fives has begun. Today marks the start of our quest to bring you our top five experiences, in five categories over five days. And yep that’s right, we think Mondays are the perfect day to start planning up a big weekend. There’s nothing quite like having the thought of a 2-day jaunt on the horizon to get you through the working week, and come Friday you’ll be whizzing straight from the office for an unforgettable weekend. Much to the dismay of your colleagues.
Miami
Home to the international jet set and a celebrity haven, a break to the glitz and glamour of Miami’s South Beach is the ultimate weekend getaway. If you’re looking to party away the weekend in ravishing style and vibrant nightlife, top up your tan in the sun-kissed Florida sunshine or get behind the scenes of the city’s top up-and-coming art scene then Miami can’t be beaten.
Reykjavik
For a weekend in a cutting edge and out and out cool city then we say head for Reykjavik. Less than a 3-hour flight from the Uk, you’ll be there in enough time to scuba dive between tectonic plates, quad bike through rugged, serine landscapes and immerse yourself in the chic, vibrant and totally unique nightlife of the city.
Tarifa
In need of some Spanish sunshine but without the monotony of sangria and sun loungers? Then try your hand at a spot of kite-surfing. Tarifa boasts the best winds in Europe and is the perfect place to master this adrenaline pumping wind powered sport. A couple of days with the experts and you’ll be catching so much air you’ll have a birds eye view of Africa.
Istanbul
Europe? Asia? Can’t decide? Well for the best of both worlds head to Istanbul. A city packed with the best bits from both continents. In true Black Tomato style we’ll get you under the skin of the city where you’ll explore ancient mosques, bustling local markets and take luxury boat trips along the Bosphorus. A truly authentic experience.
Belgrade
Still relatively undiscovered by tourists, Belgrade is without a doubt one of the hippest cities in Europe. It’s newly thriving cultural scene and classy nightlife is all thrown together with the ancient history of the beautiful Old town, Orthodox churches and remnants which date back to the Ottoman Empire. An eclectic mix of old and new.
