Cuba’s eastern city of Holguin will dedicate an entire three-day music festival to Mexico this November.

The 20th International Son Rhythm Festival of Mayari will fill the streets of Holguin with music, art and dancing and many of Cuba’s finest bands will descend on the city during the event, which will run from November 5th to 8th.

It boasts a huge number of Cuban music acts like Bamboleo, Havana de Primera and Original de Manzanillo and is the perfect way to get directly involved in one of the country’s liveliest communities and see what makes Cuba so special for Cubans.

The Mexican theme comes with the inclusion of number of bands from across the Gulf, including Aquino, who hail from the city of Cozumel.

The fact that the mojitos will be flowing freely and the parties will go on way past your bedtime every evening is just an added bonus.

And the morning after the night before, when the partying has died down, you’ll be happy to hear that Cuba’s fourth largest city – known as the City of Parks because of the huge number of green spaces it contains – is as elegant and easy going as Havana. It’s also a stone’s throw from some of the best-quality diving on the island, so you’ll have to have a pretty good excuse not to head to Holguin.ADNFCR-2390-ID-19436323-ADNFCR
