description
The Anse Chastanet is the original Caribbean eco-hotel (it was there way before the term came in vogue) and is located nestled on the hillsides of St. Lucia just above a marine park. Built using eco-friendly materials (so you don’t have to pay with your conscience), and perfectly located for exploring the nearby reefs and rainforests, this really is a tropical island paradise that will inspire the nature lover in you.
location
The hotel is located on the southwest coast of St. Lucia, amongst its lush green rainforests, steamy volcanoes and secret waterfalls. Nearby are the stunning peaks of the Pitons, two volcanic plugs that dominate the surrounding scenery. The panoramic views from the property are spectacular and ensure you’ll never forget this island gem.
your room
You can choose between rooms decked in locally sourced timber, with colourful cotton fabrics maintaining a classic colonial feel, or more contemporary rooms overlooking the Pitons, with their own plunge pool. The rooms are dotted along the beachside or hillside so you’re never too far from the crystal blue water or abundant green tropical palms.
why we like it
This island getaway is perfect if you like a bit of action in your holiday with water sports and scuba diving nearby as well as a number of dramatic hill climbs. You can explore the rainforest and reefs at your own leisure and the unique features such as local sulphur springs and hot mud pools really make this retreat unique. And if you prefer your food hotter than the local volcanic pools then you can try some authentic Caribbean and Creole cooking in the local restaurants (you can even dine out in your own al fresco tree house). Anse Chastanet is something not to be missed.
