For long stretches of uber cool coastline and legendary surfing there’s only one place you need to be thinking about in Brazil. Yep, the Marau Peninsula in the North East of the country. For experienced surf bums you can revel in the near perfect breaks and swells and if you’re lucky (or mad) catch a ride on the infamous 1.5km long Boca de Barra break that peels down the coast. Certainly a surfing experience to write home about. But for those of you not keen on donning your flippers and hitting the surf fear not; the pure sand, coral reefs and natural swimming pools which occur at low tide provide more than enough inspiration for taking it easy (naturally) and topping up the tan in one of the most beautiful coastal regions in South America.
