Choosing a ski chalet in the Alps
isn't easy. Spending hours and hours trawling through hundreds of properties
that bear a striking resemblance to each other isn't our idea of fun either,
but fortunately we already have a place in mind that could be just what you're
looking for. And if you're not sold by simply looking at the images (like we
were) then let us convince you.
Simply put, our chalet in Courcheval has got it all: super-comfortable and
luxurious lodgings, one of Europe's steepest runs on your doorstep, gourmet
food and loads of off-piste activities. What more could you ask for? Some
fantastic amenities nearby, you say? No problem. The chalet is situated in the
exclusive area of Belvedere, just a twenty-minute walk (or five on the bus)
from the town centre where you'll find enough shops, pubs and Alpine
restaurants to keep even hardcore powder-fiends happy on an afternoon off.
And when you do hit the slopes, rest assured that you'll be in good hands. A
private ski guide will show you round the valley and point you in the direction
of all the best slopes. By the time you've earmarked your favourite for the
next day's skiing, it'll probably be time for afternoon tea, or perhaps a glass
of bubbly and some canapés before dinner at a local restaurant. Alternatively,
try a home-cooked meal around the chalet's huge dining table. If you're worried
you might miss out on the 'wipeout of the week' prize giving whilst you're in
the kitchen, you needn't: we can arrange a personal chef so you don't have to
set foot near the stove top.
What with the gorgeous décor and
luxury facilities of the chalet (did we mention the Sky TV, playstation and Wi-Fi
access yet?) you might find it hard to drag yourself to the slopes. Perhaps the
promise of an après ski facial or massage by a visiting beauty therapist will
change your mind. One of the chalet's staff will be only too happy to organise
this for you, as well as anything else you might require during your stay. One
thing's for sure, after a week in Courcheval you'll return home refreshed,
relaxed and feeling like a million dollars.
