Fast building a reputation as one of the must-visit destinations in the world and referred to by many as the earth's last great wilderness, Mongolia is an endless playground of blue skies, desert sands, rolling taiga and stunning mountains.
Our Mongolian experience lasts for eight days. You begin your trip travelling by jeep though the Gobi desert, watching as the green hills turn to scorched rock and barren landscapes of gravel plains. The desert is a living mix of strange inhabitants which you will hopefully be able to witness. It is home to wild asses, rare Saiga antelopes, wild horses, ibex, snow leopard, wolves, two-humped camels and the world's only desert bear - the Gobi bear.
After exploring this stunning region, you will head northwest to Karakorum, the ancient capital of Mongolia once home to Marco Polo and known as the ruined city. Here you will find the Erdene Zuu monastery containing three temples. Set eyes of some one of the most amazing archeological discoveries - the ruins of a vast city lost in history where only three stone tortoise statues mark its existence in time. Throughout the trip you will be led by local guides and will stay in ger camps set out in the vast landscapes.
To see these areas of Mongolia is to experience one of the most remote and beautiful landscapes of our time. Revealing not only the utter isolation of the place, it also puts you into a relaxed mindset far, far away from the daily grind.
