Day 1:
Arrive in Paro and transfer to Thimpu.
Day 2:
Visit magnificent monasteries, the national museum and the indigenous hospital while you acclimatise to the Himalayan altitude.
Day 3:
Enjoy a scenic drive to the city of Punakha, with a picnic lunch en route. Visit the Wangdi Dzong and stay the night in Amankora.
Day 4:
Take a day excursion to the hidden valley of Pho-chhu, completely off-the-beaten-track. Here you can bike ride deep within the valley and visit villages so remote they still have no electricity.
Day 5:
Travel from Punakha to Gangtey, 3500m above sea level and known as the haven for an endangered species of crane, the birds of heaven. Overnight at Aman Resorts.
Day 6:
Explore the villages of Chenbji and Rukubji on your way back to Punakha.
Day 7:
Make your way by road to Dochula pass and then head off on bikes till you reach Paro where you will stay at Uma Paro.
Day 8:
Spend the day visiting the surrounding beauty.
Day 9:
A day excursion to the Haa valley.
Day 10:
Hike to Taktsang, a favourite with most that visit. You will get the chance to visit the monastery where master-Guru meditated for three months.
Day 11:
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
