  • Day 1:

You will be collected from Maun airport for your private charter flight to Jack's camp and spend the afternoon settling in. You will be taken to the middle of Makgadikgadi pans for sunset, before a lavish candlelit dinner.

  • Day 2:

After an early start you'll be taken to see the desert through the eyes of a meerkat with your expert zoologist guide. Return to camp for a hearty breakfast before visiting remote cattlepost to learn about the traditional culture of the Botswana people, see the largest tree in Africa, and admire a family of hyenas.

  • Day 3:

After a full safety briefing head off across salt pans on quad bikes for Kubu island, stopping for lunch in scenery so spectacular you'll feel like you're on the moon. When you arrive on the island your camp will already be set up for a cosy night around the campfire before sleeping in the open air in luxury bedrolls complete with hot water bottles.

  • Day 4:

Explore the island and its surroundings, including the extinct mouth of the Zambezi and the biggest flamingo breeding sight in the world.

  • Day 5:

Leave Kubu by quad and spend the day traversing the extraordinary pans on the way back to Jack's camp.

  • Day 6:

Spend the morning before you leave walking with Zu/'hoasi Bushmen trackers. Learn how they live in this harsh environment and return to camp for a quick lunch before leaving for your flight home.
