Stylish Time Experience
Helinski Kirjais

We believe the most original and stylish weekend city break in 2008 will be to Helsinki. Why this cherished Finland secret is fast becoming one of Europe's top city hotspots is not hard to answer. Although small and intimate, Helsinki oozes grace, style and a confident but understated sense of cool. With architectural undercurrents comparable to St. Petersburg and picturesque skylines, Helsinki is not likely to stay out of the limelight for long, so quickly get there before the masses.

Spend 3 nights in the flawlessly designed Klaus K Hotel and Spa for a stylish and luxurious weekend away from the grind stone. Based right in the heart of the city centre you will have the best of Helsinki at your doorstep. Minutes away from the harbour, walking through the waterfront fish market, Kauppatori, is an absolute must along with visiting local art galleries, museums, boutiques and the effortlessly cool and chic nightlife of the capital all within walking distance.

Helsinki's signature architecture is beautiful and can be appreciated all year round. With not a skyscraper in sight, hours can be spent walking around studying the changing facets of Helsinki's many facades. Along with the many designer boutiques and harbour activities to browse around you will find yourself running out of time to take in the wonders of the capital, and in our book that's a sure sign of a must-visit city.

Catching the ferry to Suomenlinna Island and exploring the ruins of the mighty fortress and heading to the beach for some sought after sunshine in the summer is another great way to spend your time. Finally, make sure you have enough time to test out the Finnish saunas and indulge yourself in the hip Finnish nightlife by visiting the coolest bars and restaurants in town as recommended to you by our local knowledge service.

Why not make your trip really special and combine it with stay on Kirjais Island, situated in the beautiful southern Turku archipelago.

Stay in a private Scandinavian style lodge set in pine forest in the heart of the island and a small walk from the sea. Spend your days exploring Kirjais by rowing boat or row over to other islands in the dense archipelago. Other activities include walking, cycling (we can arrange bike hire), sailing and fishing before you unwind in your private sauna.

The island is 30 miles from Turku and 120 miles from Helsinki and we can arrange car hire or transfers from both. Accommodation is (for 7 nights and is) self catered, although let us take the stress away by arranging for food to be delivered to your door.
