Every self-respecting Montrealer claims their city has the best bagels in the world and after a recent trip to Quebec, we have to agree. There’s something truly, delectably delicious about these dense, chewy circles of dough that have just a hint of the sweet to them. Sure they come in other varieties and shops across the city bake them, but the very best bagels (in our opinion) are the sesame variety at Fairmount Bagel. Home of the original Montreal bagel, this tiny hole in the wall down a quiet back street is a real find. Watch as bagels are hand kneaded behind the counter and don’t forget to ask for yours hot and just out of the oven.
