They say that there’s somewhere to drink at every hour in Budapest. So which bar, we found ourselves asking, is the funkiest at the considerably non-funky hour of midnight on a Sunday? The answer is Underground - literally. Late on a Sunday, the ambient night at the Underground bar is in full swing, complete with low-lighting (care of industrial lamps) and an ultra-cool cocktail menu. Located in a cavity under a crumbling cinema and named after Emir Kusturica’s cult movie, there’s no better space in which to lap up the precious last moments of a weekend in Pest.
