We all have passions. At Black Tomato our passion is travel (obviously) but we believe there is often something else that comes first, a source of inspiration that encourages us to get out there and experience life. In essence it’s the ‘fuel’ that fires up our travel passions. So what is this fuel? Well, for us it’s the obvious, but undoubted destination defining passions, from music, to literature, to film and art.

Throughout 2010 we’re going to take a look at how these four ‘fuels’ can and have inspired travel, and share with you a range of favourite books, tunes, films and pieces of art which have so often been the inspiring source of trips that we have taken (and you can take also), along with shaping our outlook on the world and why we all need to travel. Travel ‘fuels’ not only fire you up to go but they also reveal the soul of a destination. In short, they are vital to us and we hope you feel the same way.
